#asktheexpert My daughter is 3months old, she weighs 5kg.From which month I should start for solids? Can I give juices? breastfeeding is being done properly

A. Hello fellow parent, one can start with semi solid food from 4th month. Though there are certain guidelines to it. your baby should be double the birth weight by 4th month. Child wants more even after a feeding session... you can start with fruit/vegetable puree that too once a day preferably during day time. and please follow the same kind of puree for 4-5 days .

A. Weaning food can be started from 5-6 months of age and in that initially in the initial stage you can introduce some semi solid food to the baby like Banana mango plum boiled Apple and then gradually you can start with some purie of carrot potato and some other foods which can be given are porridgge of suji sabudajna which can be prepared in breast milk or formula milk. initially you can start with one or two tsp which can be gradually increased up till at least three meals in a day

Once your child completes the age of six months that’s the right time for you to go ahead with giving all kind of semisolid food to the child and juices or not recommended to be given to the child you to hire content of sugar into it the nutritionist don’t approve you to give sugar or the juices to the child as of nowWrite Your Answer Here
