A. It's common for children around the age of 3 years 8 months to feel discomfort as their milk teeth (baby teeth) start loosening in preparation for adult teeth. Typically, the process of losing milk teeth begins around 6 years old, but it can vary. Some children may start losing their first tooth as early as 5 years, while others may take a bit longer. As your daughter is putting her fingers around her teeth, it could indicate some gum discomfort or an early sign of the teeth loosening. To help with the discomfort, you can try giving her a cold teething ring, massaging her gums gently, or offering her soft foods. If the discomfort persists or seems severe, you can consult a pediatric dentist for further advice.
