Q.

#asktheexpert my daughter is 3 months old. by evening she cries alot, her appetite has grown, she demands feeding every hour and by evening I don't have enough milk to feed. Can I feed her formula milk? till date she is on exclusive breasts feed. please suggest.

A. Hi, you need to give minimum gap of two hours between each feed. Three-month-old baby will take around 90 ML to 110 ML of milk once in every two hours. So exclusively breastfeed once in every two hours and burp your baby well. Baby might be crying due to colic pain also. Take a little coconut oil and massage on baby stomach clockwise and anticlockwise. And cyclic leg exercise. Do tummy time and give a gap of few seconds and then feed your baby. Burpyour baby well after every feed which is very important. Yes you can give top feed that is formula milk. But make sure to check with your paediatrician ones. Check the urine count if Your baby is passing urine 6 to 8 times in a day or more than that that means baby is getting enough feed. If the urine count is less than six times in a dayYou need to start with the top feed.Write Your Answer Here
