#asktheexpert my daughter is 16 months old and she is having runny nose and wet cough. Doctor has prescribed Martax and Respicure syrup. Incase cough increases then have suggested to give antibiotic. I feel that after giving this syrup she has started coughing more. Does this syrup allows cough to loosen up? Kindly guide. Also when to give antibiotic.

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 5 yr 9 m old girl4 years agoA. the medication given are ok you can continue the medication along with that you should give steam to baby two to three times in a day and keep the temperature as a warmer side
