Q.

#AskTheExpert My daughter is 1.5years old.She was diagnosed with CMPT @ age 4 months.Since then she has developed multiple food allergies to proteins like egg white, fish, chicken, massor dal. I am giving her egg yolk though which I feel she tolerates well. She is now on Monteleukast 4mg since last month. Can you please suggest me when can I rechallenge her with milk or milk products?& whether I should continue egg yolks?

A. Depending on the cause, your baby may fully recover from a lactose intolerance, or be able to tolerate more lactose in their diet in the future. For example, symptoms of secondary lactose intolerance normally disappear within two to four weeks, when the intestinal wall has recovered from the gut damage causing it.
