A. For your daughter who has a fever after vaccination, paracetamol (acetaminophen) can help reduce the fever and alleviate discomfort. The correct dosage depends on her age and weight. For a 1 year and 5 months old baby (around 8.5 kg), the general guideline is: Paracetamol Dosage: 15 mg per kg of body weight per dose. So for an 8.5 kg child: 15 mg × 8.5 kg = 127.5 mg per dose. If the paracetamol syrup you have is 125 mg per 5 ml, then you should give your child 5 ml of syrup. Important Points: Administer every 4-6 hours: You can give paracetamol every 4 to 6 hours as needed, but do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours. Monitor the fever: If the fever persists for more than 48 hours or gets very high (above 102°F or 38.9°C), or if your child shows signs of discomfort like continuous crying or lethargy, consult your pediatrician. Hydration: Ensure she stays hydrated and continues to breastfeed or drink fluids. Please double-check the medicine's label and consult your pediatrician for personalized advice.
