#AskTheExpert my daughter 3yrs 4 months old, running nose since 1 week, cough since 4days, cough only during sleep, in the night. not at all sleeping, giving syp cetrizine, montelk lc, syp ambronil s. syp azithromycin. plz suggest me. my child has not slept throughout night from past 4days.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.
steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases gfalong with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest.
As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
