#AskTheExpert my child is 6 years old but his weight is 16 kg he is underweight for his age. what I have to do for that?

A. give him iron&protien rich diet like as spinach, dal, soyabean, bajra,chakunder,pomogranat.

A. Good Growth of the child is very important and for this most important is that child should take a healthy diet where its necessary to give a balance diet which should contain all the nutrition required. This is very important for building the immunity also. Encourage for green vegetables fruits dairy products all kinds of dal and other protein containing food items like soyabean eggs etc. Some nutritional deficiencies can be a cause for less appetite like iron deficiency which is most common. Supplements like iron supplements and multivitaminf with lysine like syp zincovit CL can be given for 1-2 months to increase the appetite. g Diet counselling is also very important .

A. It Should be a minimum of 20 KG as of now what 21 KG that would be more idea so if your child is having proper height and the way it is less then you should start with giving a multivitamin and iron supplement to the child
