POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. I'm not a doctor, but I can offer some general home remedies that are commonly used for colds and coughs in babies. Please consult with a pediatrician before trying any of these remedies for your 11-month-old:
1. **Steam Inhalation**: Run a hot shower to create steam and sit in the bathroom with your baby for a while. The steam can help relieve congestion.
2. **Nasal Saline Drops**: Saline drops can help clear nasal congestion. Use a few drops in each nostril.
3. **Hydration**: Ensure your baby stays well-hydrated with breast milk, formula, or water if they are old enough.
4. **Elevate Head**: Elevating the head of your baby's crib slightly can help with breathing.
5. **Honey**: For babies over 1 year old, honey mixed with warm water can soothe a cough. But it's not safe for babies under 1 year.
6. **Warm Soups**: If your baby is eating solids, warm vegetable or chicken broth can be comforting.
7. **Use a Humidifier**: A humidifier in the baby's room can add moisture to the air and help with congestion.
8. **Ginger and Tulsi Tea**: For babies over 6 months old, a very mild infusion of ginger and tulsi (holy basil) can help relieve cold symptoms.
9. **Breast Milk**: Breast milk has antibodies that can help your baby fight off the cold.
Remember, it's crucial to consult with a pediatrician, especially for very young babies. They can provide guidance tailored to your baby's specific situation.
