ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist1 Year agoA. dear parent, after completion of 6 months, you can begin with foods like porridges (like rice, Ragi, wheat flour , moong dal and rice flour mix) , kheer then dal-rice with vegetables, veg khichadi, soft mashed fruits, curd. start with 3-4 tsp and then about half katori per meal about 2 to 3 meals per day. give 1 food for about 3-6 days for baby to accept and to see how baby tolerates it then introduce another new food

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy1 Year agoA. When introducing solid foods to a 6-month-old Indian baby, it's essential to offer a variety of nutrient-rich options. Here are some suitable foods: 1. **Rice Cereal:** - Start with single-grain rice cereal, mixed with breast milk or formula. 2. **Mashed Bananas:** - Rich in potassium and easily digestible. 3. **Pureed Vegetables:** - Cooked and pureed vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, and peas. 4. **Pureed Fruits:** - Apples, pears, and steamed and mashed fruits are good options. 5. **Lentil Puree:** - Well-cooked and pureed lentils (dal) are rich in protein. 6. **Khichdi:** - A mix of rice and lentils cooked together, often with added vegetables. 7. **Avocado:** - A source of healthy fats and important nutrients. 8. **Soft Chapati Pieces:** - Small, soft pieces of chapati or other soft Indian bread. 9. **Yogurt:** - Full-fat plain yogurt is a good source of calcium and probiotics. 10. **Mashed Paneer (Cottage Cheese):** - Rich in protein and calcium. Remember these guidelines: - Introduce one new food at a time to monitor for any allergies or sensitivities. - Ensure that the food is age-appropriate, well-cooked, and has an appropriate texture for your baby's age. - Breast milk or formula should still be the primary source of nutrition at this stage. Always consult with your pediatrician before introducing new foods to ensure they align with your baby's development and individual needs.
