#asktheexpert my baby is having purulent discharge from right eyes since 5 days. what should I apply

A. Frequently eye discharge may be due to allergy, infection or trauma by nail of baby or blocked nasolacrimal duct.  If it is due to blocked nasolacrimal duct since birth we have to reopen that duct with massage  Massage from inner side of eyes to the tip of nose.  It will help  Nasolacrimal duct can also be blocked due to nasal congestion Visit ur nearest pediatrician once for detail examination of ur baby.

A. hello this could be due to eye infection and this would require a proper medical attention and it is better to check with your doctor and she will be able to guide you better on examination of the same and advise you accordingly which would be better and also safe
