#AskTheExpert My baby is having infection because of which she is having fever and loose motion...but now vomiting has also started...she isn't able to digest water...we are giving medicine but don't know what should be done ..please help or suggest something. Thanks

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. loose motions occur due to some infection commonly or if chronic than could be some malabsorption. Initially you can give zinc supplement for 2 weeks and probiotic like darolac sachet for 3 days for two times a day. For any specific treatment with antibiotics,consult your doctor and maintain proper hydration with plenty of liquids like coconut water or ORS. can give khichdi,sabudana , mashed potato ,ripe banana, poha if the baby is above 6 months of age. if there is any stomach ache in a baby above one year of age drotin ds syrup can be given under medical advice.usually during the teething phase loose motion is commonly seen in the babies because children have a tendency to put their dirty finfingers into the mouth or any other object due to irritation in the gums.if there is fever calpol and for vomiting you can give domstal to your child in proper dosages under the supervision of your pediatrician.

Hi parent I suggest you please consult with your pediatrician about this matter because physical examination of child is important for proper diagnosis and treatment and please keep your child well hydrated with more liquid diet please maintain hygiene properly with Babyhug instant senitizer
