#asktheexpert my baby is excessively licking his fingers even after feeding. what to do to make this habit go away. he is 5 mnths old.

A. make wear a glove. you can show the baby to a pediatric doctor who will check and find the right diagnosis and treat wellsee only the doctor who can see you in person can judge what is the right status. best to trust her

A. hello...The habit of thumb sucking or finger licking is not a problem till babies get permanent teeth..babies have natural rooting and sucking reflexes, which can cause them to put their thumbs or fingers into their mouths — sometimes even before birth. .because thumb sucking makes babies feel secure...some babies might develop a habit of thumb sucking when they're in need of soothing or going to sleep...
