#asktheexpert my baby is excessively licking his fingers even after feeding. what to do to make this habit go away. he is 5 mnths old.

PallaviMom of a 7 yr 11 m old girl4 years agoA. hello...The habit of thumb sucking or finger licking is not a problem till babies get permanent teeth..babies have natural rooting and sucking reflexes, which can cause them to put their thumbs or fingers into their mouths — sometimes even before birth. .because thumb sucking makes babies feel secure...some babies might develop a habit of thumb sucking when they're in need of soothing or going to sleep...
