#AskTheExpert my baby is 8 months old, whenever we call him by his name - mostly he does not responds if he is busy playing,if we call out loud he just take a glance at us and then starts playing again. He generally responds more when we are in line of his vision.Is it normal, do i need to consult doctor for this.

A. If you notice your child is not responding to their name (or very rarely) by their first birthday, it's extremely important that you bring this up to your child's pediatrician .
