A. A 7-day-old baby latching for one hour continuously is common in the early days as newborns have small stomachs and need frequent feeding. This could be due to cluster feeding, comfort nursing, or ensuring a good milk supply. However, if your baby seems unsettled after feeds, isn't gaining weight properly, or you experience nipple pain, ensure a deep latch and check for effective swallowing. If needed, try offering the other breast after 20-30 minutes. If you’re concerned about feeding patterns or milk supply, consulting a lactation expert or pediatrician can help.
