#AskTheExpert My baby is 65 days old now he have cradle cap, cold and cough...from evening his head is lot of sweating....nd body temperature is 98.2°F

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. your child is having cradle cap or seborrheic dermatitis (baby dandruff)
you have to daily apply baby shampoo on the scalp of the child during the bathing.
do not apply any type of oil on the scalp during the daytime but only apply oil at the night time.
within one week the cradle cap will disappear.
cradle cap is baby dandruff and is a type of fungal infection .
this can occurs due to weather changes and temperature variations or simple cold and rarely infection.
kindly give nasal saline drops (nasoclear /nasivion s)every three hourly and since it is a salt water/saline water it does not have any side effects and can be given again and again for nasal blockage and respiratory cough.
it will dissolve mucus in nose and throat.
for fever and pain give paracetamol.d
anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be given only after medical consultation.
try to prevent temperature variations around the child and you can also give indirect steam inhalation and if there is no improvzement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor
