Q.
#AskTheExpert my baby is 5 month old. from last 2 days she is not sleeping well. she sleeps only in my arms and when put down she wakes up crying. and she crys as if she is having some issues. I did everything to settle her but she doesn't sleep. before she use to sleep whole night now she refuses to sleep on bed only she need to sleep on my arms other wise she doesn't sleep. what could be the issue? how to rectify it and solve it?

ExpertDr. Pandurang sawantPaediatrician4 years agoA. this all because of the gas in the stomach which irritate the baby
Exessive cry is very common under 6 months of age bcz of gas in stomach
Exclusive breast feed ur baby till 6months of age.
Feed ur baby with proper position.
Burp properly after each and every feed for at least 10 min or till baby take 4 burp.
Give Tummy time 4-5 times in a day time
If still issue persist then
Give colic aid drops 0.5 ml (if needed).
Maximum 4times per day.

SandhyaMom of a 8 yr 8 m old girl4 years agoA. Hi, make sure the room is ventilated. Use thin soft cotton clothes. Also make sure the blanket is also thin and cotton. Avoid thick blankets. Exclusively breastfeed and burp your baby well and then put the baby back to sleep. Massage on the stomach clockwise and anticlockwise with coconut oil for a couple of time.Write Your Answer Here
