Q.

#AskTheExpert My baby is 13 month old. he is not eating anything. only demand milk ..whether it's a formula or breastfeed. I prepared lots of variety of food. but he refused. ..plz help me..suggest any syrup..

A. Consult with your doctor whether any vitamin supplements can be given to the kid. Let your kid decide the quantity and give more only when the kid asks. Do not allow more than two snacks per day between mealtimes. Limit fluid intake (excluding water) to 480 ml per day. Rotate the menu and add new recipes to keep your kid interested and also learn about his food preferences. Make food fun with creative shapes and colours and you can even serve food on fancy little plates. Serve smaller portions. There should be a fixed time for mealtimes as it helps in regularising your kid's appetite and prepare him for meals. Give more finger foods. Do not force your kid to eat. Praise him even if he is able to finish only a small part of his meal.
