A. If your 1-year-7-month-old baby is experiencing swelling in her left hand but can still move it properly and lift things without difficulty, it may not be an immediate concern. Swelling can occur due to minor injuries, insect bites, or even an allergic reaction. However, if the swelling persists for more than a day, worsens, or if she starts experiencing pain, redness, or a decrease in mobility, it's best to consult a pediatrician or an orthopedic physician. They can assess the condition and determine if there are any underlying issues that need attention, such as a soft tissue injury, joint inflammation, or another cause. Always err on the side of caution when it comes to your child's health.
