#AskTheExpert my baby hasnt passed stool since 4 days , she is 20 days old and her stomach is semi hard and sometimes she is so fussy in sleep , very worried about her please give me some tips or medication for the issue ?

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 5 yr 9 m old girl4 years agoA. yes can be hard for. it s absolutely normal for the baby to not pass stools daily as digestion process can be different for all . If baby does not pass stool even upto 1 week it s not to worry. If more than 1 week and baby has discomfort can use glycerine suppository for relief. No syrup is given for this below 2 years for this issue .

Re See in general if a child does not pass motion for 5 to 7 days it is considered normal without an issue but if your child is having any kind of discomfort then you can definitely consult your doctor you can give some medicine for a child so that your child would be able to pass motion easily
