Q.

#AskTheExpert my baby had cold and fever, doctor gave calpol drops, nasalclear nose drops and wikoryl drops. He is better now. but there is still mild cold. after the three days dosage I went for checkup. Doctor asked to stop calpol and wikoryl, continue with nasalclear. He coughs at times because of cold hence doctor prescribed cough drops Kufril-LS only to give if cough increases. Cough hasn't increased but mild cough with cold is still there...it has been 3days after check up. I am afraid to give the cough drops seeing the side effects in the internet, also it is given for severe problems. My baby has mild cough because of the cold. Is it advisable to give the cough drops? or shall I give wikoryl only? My other twin baby has also now got mild cold with cough. Can I give her the cough drops? Im afraid of side effects. Please suggest. Or any home remedy that I can follow.

A. the infection you described seems viral in origin. so it will usually take around 7 days to recover. and kufril drops are safe and commonly used in babies. keep the babies well fed and maintain good hygiene
