A. At 5 months old, some babies may not yet be rolling over, and that's completely normal. Rolling over typically starts between 4 and 6 months, but every baby develops at their own pace. Here are a few things you can do to encourage your baby to roll over: 1. **Provide Tummy Time**: Regular tummy time sessions can help strengthen your baby's neck, back, and arm muscles, which are important for rolling over. 2. **Use Toys and Objects**: Place interesting toys or objects just out of reach to encourage your baby to reach and grasp, which can stimulate rolling movements. 3. **Offer Support and Encouragement**: Gently guide your baby's movements during playtime, providing support as needed to help them understand the motion of rolling over. 4. **Give Plenty of Floor Time**: Allow your baby plenty of time on the floor to explore and move freely. Avoid too much time in devices like swings or bouncers, which can restrict movement. 5. **Be Patient**: Remember that all babies develop at their own pace, and some may take longer to reach milestones like rolling over. Offer patience, support, and encouragement as your baby continues to grow and develop. If you have concerns about your baby's development or if they haven't started rolling over by around 6 months, it's a good idea to discuss it with your pediatrician. They can provide guidance and reassurance based on your baby's individual development.
