#AskTheExpert My baby cries frequently for 4 to 5 hours every day for past week. He is currently 1 month old. Tge crying stops when breastfeeding. The moment we take him for burping, he cries and doest stop until we feed him. Is it normal?

Shabnam SheikhMom of 2 children4 years agoA. hi...A month old baby will cry for many reasons. You had created such a comfortable place for the baby before birth, and suddenly the baby is out here in the big world, where it's sometimes cold, hot, humid and what not.
The baby can also cry for comfort, they just want someone to pick them up.
I am not saying hunger is completely ruled out, cos these babies have very small tummies. They feed less at every session and then pee/poop and they are again hungry. Watch out for signs of gas, give the baby some tummy time, preferably on the father's chest. It will help with their bonding, and will give you some rest.
