#asktheexpert my baby chokes and coughs every time she drinks milk or tonic is this normal for her to chock her self and get a cough

A. gastroesophageal reflux disease also known as g e r d is very common problem in small children less than 6 months of age and it does not have any permanent treatment and the problem decreases with increasing age of the child and the important thing is that you have to keep the child in upright poxsition for more duration for which gerd chairs are available and at the same time you have to continue and tested medicines given by the doctor. reflux is very common cause of recurrent cough cold as well as not gaining weight in infants.

A. hi it's important to stay calm and avoid Panic. your baby sense your emotions so staying calm will help him to feel more secure offer More frequent feeds but avoid overfeeding while feeding and giving Medicines , please make sure your baby is sitting upright. please avoid distractions at the time of feeding and giving Medicines
