#asktheexpert my baby boy is 1 month 5 days old and from 5 days he is struggling to poop he is not sleeping and drinking milk properly. he is always on trying to poop but it's not coming at one go

A. Constipation in Babies less than 1 year is very common and more in formula fed babiesrtyy and also when initially the semi solid food has been started after 6 months . you can give bonnisan drops and some enzyme preparations in proper dose suggested by doctor and cow's milk should be arvoided before 1 year of age . Medications are required but it should be given only in medical supervision .

A. Treating your baby's constipation Give your baby a warm bath to relax their bowel. Gently massage your baby's tummy in a clockwise direction. Make firm but gentle circular motions from the belly button outwards. Lie your baby on their back and gently move their legs backwards and forwards in a 'bicycle' motion.
