A. When your baby is about to turn 6 months, you can start introducing solid foods while continuing breastfeeding or formula feeding. The first foods should be simple, easy to digest, and non-allergenic. Here are some good options: 1. Pureed Vegetables: Start with mild vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, or pumpkin. Steam them and puree until smooth. 2. Pureed Fruits: Begin with fruits like apples, pears, or bananas, mashed or pureed to a smooth consistency. 3. Rice Cereal: You can offer single-grain rice cereal mixed with breast milk or formula to ensure a familiar taste. 4. Oatmeal: You can also introduce plain oatmeal (without added sugar or salt) made with breast milk, formula, or water. Start with small quantities, offering one food at a time for 3-5 days to check for any signs of allergies. Gradually increase the variety and texture as your baby gets used to eating solids.
