A. Gas is simply air in the stomach or intestines, but for some babies, it can be painful. Gas is normal for babies and usually goes away on its own. Babies may become gassy after they swallow air while crying or during feedings. Home remedies such as moving their legs and raising their head may help soothe a gassy baby.
