#AskTheExpert my baby 1 year 2 months, he is having a lot of cough from 2 day,he not able to sleep and drink milk or food,I night his cough was so worse,in every month 10 days he suffer from cough and cough,what is the reason of having cold and cough every time, can u plz suggest me what medication should be given to him,

Cough is a protective reflex of the body to expel out the mucus or any irritant factor from the respiratory tract which is most of the time assosiated with cold due to any viral or bacterial infection . A proper examination is required to find the cause .
As a home remedy you can start with steam inhalation . Cough can be treated with cjough stuppressant or antitussives as per the cause. For cold antihistamines are useful and nasal saline drops are also benifecial .
