Q.

#asktheexpert My 5th month level 2 ultrasound shows "Genital is not seen " but my gynecologist didn't say anything about it. Should I worried about my baby's genital organ?

A. It's important to note that during an ultrasound at 20 weeks (which is often called the "Level 2" ultrasound), the visibility of the genital organs can sometimes be unclear, especially if the baby is in a position that makes it difficult to visualize. This is particularly common during the second trimester, as babies are still developing, and their bodies may be positioned in ways that obstruct a clear view. If your gynecologist didn't mention anything about it, it's likely that they didn't see it as a significant issue. In most cases, if there were a concern, the doctor would inform you and possibly recommend further investigations or ultrasounds. It's also possible that the genital organs are still developing and might not be fully visible at that stage of the pregnancy. However, if you're still concerned, you can ask your gynecologist for clarification or request a follow-up ultrasound to monitor development. Trusting the guidance of your healthcare provider is key, but if you feel uncertain, it's always okay to ask questions to ensure you're comfortable and informed.
