A. Cold is a viral disease that usually occurs with symptoms like sneezing, running nose, cough ,sore throat, nasal congestion and fever.at times it can be allergic too. Treatment consists of antihistamines antipyretics analgesics and decongestants . steam inhalation would help in relieving congestion n soothing the irritation in nose and throat .you can give sinarest/ascoril flu cold in a proper dose for 3-5 days as per the symptoms but only under medical guidance.for fever give calpol.no self treatment should be done.it may take upto two wîeeks also in recovery so dont worry if gradually symptoms are getting relieved.child will resume normal activities and eating thereafter.

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which the needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
