#AskTheExpert my 2momths old baby is trying hard to poop...even though she goes two to three times a day....but one time she cried really bad and she tries to push to finish it....this is all while breastfeeding her...and its not first time she is doing like this often! may I know the reason for this doc!

A. constipation in small babies is very commonly seen and is more with babies who are fed with formula milk. Usually constipation of few days is considered as normal in babies below 6 months of age,you can give bonnisan drops 3 times a day to your child will and give frequent feeding, usually medicines or suppositories are to be avoided in such a case .if baby is having gastric pain you can give collicaid drops.give proper tummy time and burping to avoid gastric trouble.. In case of severe constipation of above one week you can give suppository but only under medical advice.itew
