#asktheexpert My 10 month old son having fever on/off since last two days. When he takes medicine calcol or ibuprofen there is no fever but it comes after 3 to 4 hours. Please suggest

A. It's common for infants to have intermittent fevers, especially during viral infections. Since your son responds to medications like Calpol or Ibuprofen but the fever returns after a few hours, it's important to continue giving the medications as directed. Ensure he stays well-hydrated and comfortable. Monitor for any additional symptoms, such as irritability, difficulty breathing, or rash. If the fever persists for more than three days, reaches 100.4°F (38°C) or higher, or if you notice any concerning signs, consult your pediatrician for further evaluation and guidance.
