#asktheexpert my 10 month old is not coughing but sound like Cough is there frequently... can I give him impose cough syrup

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy3 years agoA. not advisable to give any cough medicine without medical consultation cough and cold medicine is given according to the requirement and examination so do not give any medicine without medical consultation. if given without consultation coughing medicine can aggravate the problem. you can go for home remedies like tulsi ginger (honey is added when child is more than 1 year of age) combination which can be diluted with water and given frequently to the child. also you can give turmeric with milk one or two times everyday. give warm water to drink as well as nasal saline drops frequently. give warm diet try to prevent temperature variations around the child that is from hot to cold and cold to hot environment

Without Proper check up I’m not going to suggest you to give any cough syrup to the child before you give any medicine you do need to be sure whether the issue is actually there or not so you can take a guidance from your paediatrician and get it checked and if required the doctor would automatically advise you with a supplement or a medicine for that
