Q.
#AskTheExpert my 1.5 yr old son having running nose simce last 10 -12days. and in night coughing also between 2am-4am.what should i do?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 5 m old boy3 years agoA. This can occur due to either allergy or infection and some times due to weather changes and temperature variations around the child.
For cold you can give drops maxtra / wikoryl AF 0.5 ml to the child 2-3 times per day.
try to prevent temperature variations around the child and give nasal saline drops every three hourly for nasal blockage and simple cough and cold. Indirect steam will also help.
Go for home remedies like Tulsi Ginger diluted with water combinatiocn and turmeric with milk at least 2 times per day.(honey can be added after 1 year age)
Give warm water to drink
If no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor
For fever and pain give paracetamol

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 5 yr 9 m old girl3 years agoA. .Running nose or block nose. mild cough and cold is the symptom of viral infection or you can say common cold for this as a home remedy only steam can be given along with maintaining the temperature of the baby ; in medication you can give cough drop after Dr consultation other than that only fever medication like paracetamol can be given for fever .
