POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy6 months agoA. Your 1.5-month-old baby passing stool every 4-5 days is quite normal, especially for breastfed babies, as breast milk is fully absorbed and there is little waste. However, if the baby cries a lot, strains, or seems uncomfortable before passing stool, it could indicate gas or mild constipation.
✅ How to Help Your Baby?
1️⃣ Tummy Massage – Gently massage the baby’s tummy in a clockwise direction using warm coconut oil.
2️⃣ Bicycle Exercise – Move the baby’s legs in a cycling motion to help release gas and ease bowel movements.
3️⃣ Tummy Time – Place the baby on their tummy for a few minutes under supervision to improve digestion.
4️⃣ Warm Compress – Place a warm (not hot) cloth on the tummy to soothe discomfort.
5️⃣ Check Your Diet (If Breastfeeding) – Avoid gas-forming foods like cabbage, cauliflower, spicy foods, and excessive dairy.
🚨 When to See a Doctor?
❌ Baby's stool is hard, pellet-like, or has blood.
❌ Severe bloating, excessive crying, or vomiting.
❌ No stool for more than 7 days.
Let me know if the baby is formula-fed, as formula digestion differs and may require changes!
