Q.

#AskTheExpert #Mamypoko My daughter is down with viral. We got tested it's not Covid. She has a lot of congestion in her chest. I can't take her to a nearby doctor due to Covid cases. I took her treatment from practo. Now I think she needs to be nebulised once. Should I nebulize her? If yes how?

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant mevxdicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
