#AskTheExpert #Mamypoko hello doc my 15 months old baby has cough with phelgam .had high grade fever 5 days bk gave him ibruprofin 4ml 8 hourly fr 5 days his fever is under control now but he has chest congestion what should I give him though I nebulize him 2 times a day with solbair .0.31

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be givjgen only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
