Q.
#AskTheExpert mam my baby is suffering from severe constipation. he does potty in 3 or 4 days and when he does he goes through immense pain. cries a lot and runs here and there tries to stop pooping.. and does potty only after insertion of glycerin batti ... then often there is blood stool on his potty. I am giving him laxative syrup 4 ml twice a day but no benefit. pls help

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 8 yr old boy5 years agoA. after dietary modification for constipation you will have to give laxative for constipation. polyethylene glycol composition is the best medicine for constipation in children. also any laxatives if is not working properly then you can always increase the dose after consulting your doctor

ChandniMom of 2 children5 years agoA. hi mam.. same is the issue with my daughter.. we t ried almost everything. but the only thing that will work is reduce milk intake to 2 times a day and give liquids and other solid food. diet change is only solution. with little medicine and physical exercise
