#asktheexpert its third day of my baby..he is passing black stool which is slightly cuddled...could you please guide me if its normal

This is called meconium, which is the baby’s first stool made up of amniotic fluid, mucus, and other substances ingested during pregnancy. Meconium is typically dark green or black and sticky, and it is gradually replaced by yellow, soft stools as the baby starts breastfeeding or formula feeding. If the stool remains black or there are other concerns, it’s best to consult your pediatrician for reassurance.
