A. it's usually oral medicine and not injection usually vitamin a deficiency can occur in children if the diet is not proper. in maintenance dosage it is usually given at the end of 9 months and then at the end of 15 months and then between 4 years to 5 years of age and usually given along with mmr vaccination. in between any extra dosage is required or not will be decided by the doctor.
