POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. Yes, it's normal for babies to have bowel movements while eating solids, especially as they transition from a liquid diet to solid foods. As babies start to consume more solid foods, their digestive system adjusts, and bowel movements may become more regular and frequent.
At 9 months old, it's common for babies to have multiple bowel movements per day, typically ranging from one to four times. The frequency and consistency of bowel movements can vary from one baby to another, and what's normal for one baby may not be the same for another.
Additionally, some babies may have bowel movements shortly after eating, as the act of eating can stimulate the digestive system. This is often referred to as a gastrocolic reflex.
As long as your baby's bowel movements are soft and they are otherwise healthy, there's usually no cause for concern. However, if you notice any changes in your baby's bowel habits, such as persistent diarrhea, constipation, or unusual changes in stool color or consistency, it's a good idea to consult with your pediatrician for further evaluation and guidance.
