#asktheexpert is it good to give D3 drops to child 0 to 12 months.

A. yes sunlight is important for the generation of vitamin d in the body. to generate proper vitamin d the child should go in sunlight between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. for at least 10 minutes daily . if the child is not able to follow this then vitamin d supplements needs to be given. after 1 year of age there is two options of giving vitamin d to the child. it would be advisable to discuss this with your personal pediatrician. when you are giving drops of 800 units you have to give 0.8 ml per day or you can shift to vitamin d shots of 60000 unit which can be given 5 ml single dose and has to be repeated every three months for the child.

A. it is important to gv vit d3 ... it is recommended to gv vit3 drps fr calcium needs fr strong bones and strong teeth.. from birth till baby turns 1yr.. dr. recommends to gv.. tk care
