#AskTheExpert I have been told by doctors that my son has allergic cough. he coughs on and off everyday. what should I do? will homeopathic medicine work as I can't give him allopathic medication on a daily basis.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilatorols or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce tthe fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

This is all because of change in weather. In such case you should always try to keep your baby in normal room temperature and don’t change the temperature of surroundings frequently. Rather than this you can give some home remedies like add very little amount of turmeric in babies milk and also give 1 teaspoon of honey
