Q.

#asktheexpert I have a 5 month old baby girl. i was only able to feed her breastmilk till 3 months. Now as she will be turning 6 months in Jan, I wanted to know how can I provide her the best nutrition which she did not get.

A. don't be upset or sad because you didn't have so adequate breast milk secretion from now onwards just concentrate to give more of homemade nutritious food intake to the baby. Till 6 months complete only breastfeeding or formula feed should be given after completing 6 months you should start with water along with Dal water and rice water only in continuation with breast milk after completing 7 months you should start with Semi solid food like vegetable soup for fruits purry and then slowly move on for solid food so that the babies digestion remains good

A. Foods like potato, pumpkin, sweet potato, dal, ghee, ragi, almonds, yogurt, eggs and milk help the baby to gain weight. Please take a pediatricians' suggestion before you start any of these foods. As always follow a 3 day test rule.
