Q.

#asktheexpert I have a 3 months old baby girl. From 2 months she doesn’t poop for 4-5 days and sometimes even 1 week. When we asked her paediatrician they said it’s normal, we need not to worry and he gave a drops of digestive enzymes, so we use to give her this drops and then only she use to poop, now started giving her colicaid, she poops after 3-4 days and she cries while doing so. I’m so worried for her.

A. it is totally normal for small children less than 6 months of age not to pass stool for 10 days also. it is also normal if they are passing stool more than 6 or 7 times per day. if the consistency of the stool isz Semi solid to solid there is no need to worry about the frequency as well as the colour (the colour can range from yellow brown green tox black) of the stool. also straining while passing urine and stool is normal. Do burping for 15 to 20 minutes
