Q.

#AskTheExpert I am breastfeeding my one month old son. My breasts have been hurting since the beginning. I changed the feeding position to cradle, and have tried to improve latching as well. it still hurts. I apply edible virgin coconut oil which has helped in dryness but the breasts still hurt sometimes they are warm/hot to touch. The right one has a sharp needle pain at times. I tried ice pack but it increased the pain and dried the nipples. what can be done?

A. use of nipple shield when you are feeding because you are having sore nipples and you can apply Himalaya nipple care cream when you are not feeling the baby and clean well before feeding
