A. To understand if your baby is suffering from colic, look for the following signs, especially in babies between 2 weeks and 4 months old: Excessive crying: Baby cries intensely for more than 3 hours a day, at least 3 days a week, usually in the evening or night, for no clear reason. Clenched fists and stiff body: Your baby may clench fists, arch their back, pull their legs to the belly, and appear to be in pain. Difficulty in soothing: Normal calming methods like feeding, rocking, or cuddling may not work. Gas and bloating: The baby may pass gas frequently, and the tummy might feel tight or swollen. No fever or illness: Baby appears otherwise healthy—feeds well, gains weight, and has normal diapers. Colic is common and usually resolves on its own by 3–4 months.
