#asktheexpert how and when can we start cow milk for infants

A. Cow's milk should be given to the baby only after completion of 1 year of age because the protein and fat in cow's milk is hard to digest before that and many a times there could be cow's milk protein allergy in babies and lactose intolerance which could be severe sometimes. Also early introduction of cows milk can lead to iron deficiency anemia as cow's milk lacks iron and vit c . Also there could be micro bleeding in intehstine because of the heavy protein of cow's milk .To start hwith cow's milk should be given than gradually you can shift to buffalo milk or a packet milk which is a mixture of two .

A. You can only give it after the age of 13 months you should I use the milk in the ratio of water and milk is going to be a tea and 20 and after that you can reduce down the quantity of water over the period but it has to be after the age of 13 months onlyWrite Your Answer Here
