Q.

#AskTheExpert Hi, With the doctor's recommendation, I have started feeding solids to my baby (he was completely formula fed till now). I am observing that he still has a bit of tongue thrust reflex. This is making the whole feeding the solids processing a really long. is it ideal to give solids to babies when they still have tongue thrust ?

A. Hello mom in some cases it is observed that tongue trust indicates that the baby is yet not ready for the solids . It ideally is need to be introduced from six month onwards till then only exclusively breastfeed or as you have mentioned it formula feed and now you can start with some liquids like rice water , fruit juices ,vegetable soups or dal water can be given
