#asktheexpert hi my son 1.5 month old son is suffering from cold like symptoms,snoring like sounds all the time might be due to mucus in nose and throat.Please suggest us any methods to help him breathe normally.

A. Cold is most of the time because of some viral infection or allergic condition and symptoms are usually sneezing, running nose, nasal congestion and fever. cough along with throat irritation are usually associated . Treatment consists of antiallergic antipyretics analgesics and decongestants medicine . As a home remedy steam inhalation would be very useful . Medicvyyines like wikoryl / tminic / Alex cold can be used in a proper dose for 3-5 days as per the symptoms .g Steam inhalation is repeated frequently .

A. Put only the tip of the bulb syringe or squeeze bottle into the nostril that is farther away from the sink. (The nostril closer to the sink will drain the fluid.) Gently squirt the solution into the nose toward the back of their head, making sure your child's mouth is open.
